According to Variety, Michael Bay director of successful franchises such as Bad Boys and Transformers has set his sights on two upcoming film projects. A version for the big screen of the science fiction novel of 2011, Robopocalypse of Daniel H. Wilson and a mysterious action project titled 6 Underground .

Regarding Robopocalypse Michael Bay should follow in the footsteps of his producer in Transformers Steven Spielberg who attempted to make the film in 2013, with a cast that included Chris Hemsworth Anne Hathaway and Ben Whishaw. Spielberg was forced to put the project in stand-by, citing the script and the budget as the main problem.
Drew Goddard had written the previous draft but Variety does not specify if, in the case, Bay will include the work of the writer already made for his film. Spielberg should still participate in the project as a producer.
The book, published in 2011, is officially described in this way: In a not too distant future, technology turns against the human race. Controlled by an artificial intelligence known as Archos, the network of machines and advanced technology suddenly becomes a threat to humanity. At the time of the attack, the human race is almost completely annihilated, but just in times of need, people come together to save themselves from extinction.
6 Underground is a project that will surely participate Michael Bay as director. Written by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese and is based on an original idea whose content is still unknown. David Ellison Dana Goldberg and Don Granger of Skydance will participate in the production .
